Tumbling, tumbling tumbleweed!
Where are you going?
From where did you come?
Bouncing, bouncing tumbleweed!
What are you doing?
When will you finish?
Blowing, blowing tumbleweed!
Aren’t you worried?
Aren’t you tired?
Fascinating, fascinating tumbleweed!
Once rooted in the ground,
Now mature and dry
And tousled all around!
Farmers find you a nuisance,
Dispersing your seeds everywhere you go.
Today, I find you a lesson to me
And all others who can see.
You’re guided by the unseen, going where It leads.
Leaving but a seed in each space that It brings.
You’re not worried, you’re not tired,
Just blowing gracefully in the wind.
By and by, you will finish sprinkling your seeds,
Some will grow strong, some will perish.
To you it didn’t matter, you succeeded in your call.
Worrying not what would grow tall.
Thank you, thank you tumbleweed!
Oh, how you’ve taught me today,
It’s not by my might
But by His.
Read: Mark 4: 26-29 NCV
26 Then Jesus said, “The kingdom of God is like someone who plants seed in the ground. 27 Night and day, whether the person is asleep or awake, the seed still grows, but the person does not know how it grows. 28 By itself the earth produces grain. First the plant grows, then the head, and then all the grain in the head. 29 When the grain is ready, the farmer cuts it, because this is the harvest time.”
Pray with me:
Father God, Jehova,
I thank you for the lessons I can learn from looking at the nature You created! Like the tumbleweed, guided by the unseen, Lord, help me to be guided by You! Allow me to be guided by the Holy Spirit! I will go where You lead me, Father God! Like the tumbleweed, I pray Holy ghost seeds be dispersed in every place I go! For I know that it is You that grows the seed, while I sleep and while I wake, let me not toil in wondering if it is I who needs to do more. I trust you, Lord; Your will be done! In Jesus name I pray,
Amen
Oh I saw the title and wondered what the tumbleweed would teach you and then me!
Wow…dispersing seeds…blown by the unseen…unworried. Let it be me!
Thanks for sharing!!
